Tell AtWheel about the vehicle and journey
Send the registration, exact collection point, destination, vehicle condition and access details. Call us for an urgent breakdown or when you are unsure which option to choose.
A few clear details help us give a realistic answer.
Choose recovery when the vehicle cannot continue safely and needs to be loaded. Choose transport for a planned collection and delivery. Roadside assistance, jump starts and battery replacement are also available when the symptoms suggest a simpler attendance may help.
The form asks whether the vehicle starts, rolls, steers and has keys. Tell us about accident damage, locked wheels, low clearance, underground parking, narrow access, height barriers or anything else that could change the loading method. A photograph of the whole vehicle and the space around it can be useful for unusual collections.
Any figure shown online is an estimate until AtWheel has checked the vehicle, route, access, timing, destination and current availability. A request becomes a booking only after we confirm the job with you.

The route is only one part of the job.
We look at the vehicle, collection point, delivery point and timing together before confirming a booking.
The vehicle
A registration lookup can help identify the make and model, but tell us about modifications, long wheelbases, low bodywork, roof loads or anything unusual. Size, weight and clearance determine whether the available recovery vehicle is suitable.
How it moves
A non-runner may be straightforward when every wheel rolls and the steering is free. Locked wheels, no keys, accident damage, a failed parking brake or no neutral can require extra equipment and loading time.
Access at both ends
Height barriers, narrow streets, steep drives, gated compounds and controlled auction sites can change the plan. The destination must be open, expecting the vehicle and able to receive it safely.
Timing and availability
Planned daytime transport is different from urgent or out-of-hours recovery. We check the current crew position, traffic, road access and existing work before giving an arrival estimate.
You do not need to diagnose the fault.
Tell us whether the dashboard lights up, whether the engine clicks or cranks, whether any warning message appears and whether there is visible damage. A clear description is more useful than guessing that a battery, starter, gearbox or other component has failed.
For a roadside location, include the road, direction, nearest junction, landmark or safe map pin. For a dealer, auction or garage, include the release reference, named contact and opening hours.
Keep your telephone available until the job is confirmed.
We may call or email to check the collection point, destination, condition or access. Tell us immediately if the vehicle moves, another provider attends, the garage closes or the job is no longer required.
The confirmation should make clear what service has been agreed, the collection and delivery details, the price or pricing basis and anything that remains subject to inspection.
Recovery, roadside assistance and transport are different services.
Vehicle recovery is for a vehicle that cannot continue safely. Roadside assistance may suit a straightforward fault in a safe location. Vehicle transport is for a planned collection and delivery.

Before a request becomes a booking
AtWheel checks the vehicle, route, access, availability and destination before dispatch.
Will the form recognise every vehicle?
A registration provider can return useful details, but you should still confirm the body type, modifications and anything that affects size, weight or clearance.
Why do you ask whether every wheel rolls?
A locked wheel may need skates or a different loading method. An engine that starts does not prove that the brake releases or the vehicle can be loaded normally.
Can I ask for a quote without knowing the destination?
You can call to discuss the situation, but a confirmed transport price will normally need a suitable destination.
When might an estimate change?
A change may be needed when the route, vehicle, condition, access, timing or destination differs materially from the information submitted.
Does submitting the form dispatch a recovery vehicle?
No. Dispatch begins only after AtWheel confirms the service, availability, equipment, price and collection and delivery instructions.
