For routes beyond Hampshire, provide both postcodes and the vehicle details. Wider UK transport can be discussed individually. We do not describe neighbouring places as Hampshire depots or promise an arrival time based only on the nearest town.

Choose the service that fits the situation

If a journey has stopped unexpectedly, start with the recovery page for the location of the vehicle. Tell AtWheel what has happened, whether anyone is in danger and where the car or van needs to go. If there is immediate danger, contact the emergency services first. You can call with the information available from a safe position; there is no need to walk along a road to improve the address description.

For a purchase, move from storage or scheduled workshop transfer, choose the transport page. A planned collection needs the seller or keyholder, access information and someone ready to receive the vehicle. The car does not need to run for its movement to be planned transport. The distinction is the job you are arranging, rather than a rule that every non-start is automatically an urgent recovery.

Different pricing for different jobs

The standard recovery call-out is £100, with mileage and job extras quoted separately. Give the collection point and intended destination so the full charge can be discussed. A short distance between two local addresses does not remove the need to understand a difficult parking position, locked wheel or other loading requirement. Confirm the total for the job before booking.

Transport mileage is £3 per mile for the route from PO13 8DG to collection and then to delivery. This includes the journey to reach the vehicle, not only the distance between seller and buyer. The stated route does not automatically add a return leg after delivery or the recovery call-out. Use the transport quote form with both postcodes and the vehicle details; suitability, access and availability are checked before a collection is confirmed.

What the local pages help you check

A location can contain several collection environments: a residential drive, station parking, a shopping car park or a business yard. The local pages explain relevant distinctions so you can describe where the vehicle actually stands. They also link to nearby areas when the address falls outside the town you first searched. The aim is to get the collection information right, rather than assume a familiar place name identifies the correct entrance.

AtWheel handles vans up to 3,500kg, subject to the particular vehicle and job assessment. Include its body type, weight information, roof equipment and current load. For restricted access, we have equipment that can work with 2.1m clearance, but ramps, bends, obstructions and the parked position also matter. Do not assume that every car park is suitable or that a lower entrance can be used. Give us the actual restriction before arrangements are agreed.

When the caller is somewhere different from the car

You might be buying a vehicle from another town, arranging help for a family member or calling after leaving a broken-down car safely parked. Use the car's current location for the collection enquiry. Your home address, the seller's business address and the storage location can be different. Explain who has the keys and who can authorise release, particularly if the owner cannot attend.

For a managed site, confirm the vehicle entrance and the contact responsible for access. A pedestrian route, customer reception postcode or general terminal name may not describe where recovery equipment can go. If the site needs to open a barrier or approve loading, have that conversation before treating the visit as arranged. A photograph can help when it can be taken safely and with any necessary site permission.

A non-start may be a roadside assistance enquiry

If a vehicle will not start but is safely parked, tell us the symptoms before deciding which service to book. We offer mobile jump starts and mobile battery replacement from £149, including battery and charging-system checks and free removal of the old battery when replaced. A different mechanical or charging fault may need workshop attention and a separate recovery quotation.
