Tell us what has happened and where the vehicle needs to go.

AtWheel helps when a car, van or motorcycle has broken down, will not start, has been damaged or simply needs collecting and delivering. Call us for urgent help or use the quote form for a planned move. We will ask a few practical questions about the vehicle, its position and the destination so we can work out the right way to move it.

Which service do you need?

Recovery is for a vehicle that cannot continue. Transport is for a move you can plan.

You do not need to know the technical cause before calling. Describe what the vehicle is doing and we will help you choose the sensible option.

01

Broken down

Choose vehicle recovery when the vehicle cannot be driven safely and needs taking home, to a garage, bodyshop or another agreed destination. Tell us whether it starts, rolls, steers and has working keys.

02

May be fixable at the roadside

Roadside assistance may suit a straightforward non-start or minor fault where it is safe to inspect the vehicle. Some faults still need workshop diagnosis, so recovery remains available when a roadside solution is not sensible.

03

Collection or delivery

Use vehicle transport for purchases, sales, dealer transfers, auction collections, workshop visits and other planned journeys. We need both addresses, contact details and an honest description of how the vehicle moves.

04

Flat battery or no start

A non-start may need a jump start, battery replacement or recovery. Tell us whether the dashboard lights up, whether the starter clicks or cranks and how long the vehicle has been standing.

A few details save a lot of time

What we need to know before setting off.

The registration helps identify the vehicle, but it does not tell us whether a wheel is locked, the suspension has collapsed, the handbrake will not release or the car is parked tightly against a wall. Those details decide whether normal winch loading is suitable or whether extra equipment and time will be needed.

Give us the exact collection point rather than only the nearest town. For a roadside breakdown, include the road, direction of travel, nearest junction or landmark and a safe map pin. For a home, garage, dealership or auction, mention gates, height barriers, narrow access, steep drives, opening hours and any release reference.

We also need a sensible destination. That can be your home, a garage, bodyshop, dealership, secure storage or another place that is open and able to receive the vehicle. When the destination is not yet known, call us and we can talk through the practical options.

Hampshire and the Solent

Local recovery and transport from Portsmouth to north Hampshire.

We take enquiries throughout Hampshire, including Portsmouth, Southampton, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville, Winchester, Eastleigh, Basingstoke, Andover, Farnborough, Aldershot, Fleet, Alton, Petersfield, Ringwood, Lymington, New Milton, Totton and Romsey. We also cover the surrounding villages and smaller communities, so use the nearest town page and then give us the exact address.

For longer journeys, AtWheel can review collection and delivery routes beyond Hampshire. The vehicle type, condition, access and timing still matter, even when the journey itself is straightforward.

Straightforward pricing

The distance matters, but so does the vehicle.

A running car on an open driveway is a very different job from a damaged non-runner with locked wheels in a tight parking space. A useful quote therefore considers travel to the collection point, the loaded journey, vehicle size, time of day, access, waiting and any extra loading equipment.

The online form can work out the road distance when the mapping service is enabled. We still check the information before confirming a booking because a map cannot see a height barrier, steep drive, closed garage or missing auction release.

Tell us about anything unusual at the first contact. Clear information lets us give a more realistic price and reduces the risk of delay or a change when the driver arrives.
