Vehicle transport in Tadley

AtWheel can discuss a planned vehicle collection in Tadley, whether you have bought a car, need a workshop transfer or want a stored non-runner moved. Tell us where it is standing and where it should be delivered. A useful quote starts with the actual route, the vehicle’s present condition and the access at both addresses.

A remote purchase needs local information

If you are buying from somebody in Tadley without being there for collection, ask the seller for the practical details. Confirm the exact address, who has the keys and who can authorise release. The buyer may know the advert very well while knowing little about the driveway or storage site. AtWheel needs information from the person who can describe the car where it stands now.

Provide the registration and make and model to identify the vehicle. Ask whether the condition has changed since the listing was written or the photographs taken. Transport is the agreed movement, not a substitute for your buying checks. The seller and buyer should settle payment, documents and release authority directly, so the car is actually ready to be handed over when collection is agreed.

If a relative or friend will meet us, make sure they know the destination and have the necessary access. A person willing to wait by the car may still lack the gate key or authority to release it. Nominate a reachable contact who can approve decisions. That is useful when the buyer is elsewhere and several people are each handling a different part of the arrangement.

The full mileage route

AtWheel’s transport mileage rate is £3 per mile for the route beginning at PO13 8DG, going to the collection and continuing to the delivery. The approach to the car is included. If the vehicle is only moving between nearby Tadley properties, measuring that local loaded journey alone will not give the same mileage basis as the full route quotation.

An automatic return leg after delivery is not included in this route basis. Planned transport also does not automatically attract the £100 recovery call-out. Job extras are discussed separately where the vehicle or access requires additional handling. Explain a locked wheel, missing key or difficult standing position before assuming that route mileage alone settles every part of the job.

The transport enquiry form is the starting point for the vehicle, addresses, condition and preferred timing. The request still needs availability and suitability checks before confirmation. Tell us whether a date is flexible or a firm seller deadline. A provisional address should be labelled as provisional and replaced with the actual collection point before the quote is treated as settled.

Tadley addresses and the correct entrance

Give a full address rather than rely on the broad town name. A keeper may use Tadley to describe their area while the vehicle is on another property or with a garage. Include the house number or property name and the entrance used by vehicles. A postal address can identify the premises without showing the route into its parking or storage area.

For a shared drive, explain who controls the access and whether other vehicles need moving. Ask the responsible person to make the agreed approach available. Do not arrange to drag a non-runner onto a road as a shortcut to collection. We should assess the vehicle’s existing position and limitations before anybody tries to alter them.

If a gate, fob or lock is involved, establish who will open it and when. A correct address and an inaccessible key are not enough for a workable handover. Tell AtWheel about narrow turns, a slope, a low obstruction or a surface which may not support equipment. Photographs can help when safely taken, especially if they show the approach rather than only the vehicle.

Woodland landmarks are not loading permission

Local directions can refer to very different parking areas. The Wildlife Trust identifies Pamber Forest visitor parking on Impstone Road at Pamber Heath, while the council identifies Wigmore Heath from Wigmore Road. If a seller suggests meeting near one of these places, explain the exact site and whether the vehicle will actually be there. A familiar landmark cannot replace a confirmed collection address.

Visitor parking should not automatically be used as a loading point for a sale. Check who operates the location and whether the intended movement is permitted and practical. Woodland paths and tracks are not alternative approaches for transport equipment merely because pedestrians use them. Tell us what is proposed so the route and access can be assessed before a booking is arranged around it.

If the car is stored on private land nearby, identify the permitted gate and the surface beneath it. A car reached under its own power some time ago may now need a different collection method. Explain soft ground, obstructions or changes since it was parked. AtWheel can consider an accurate proposal; describing an inaccessible vehicle as an ordinary roadside collection is not helpful to anyone involved.

Stored cars and honest condition reports

For a non-runner transport enquiry, distinguish between starting, driving, rolling and steering. A vehicle may do one without doing the others. Ask whether the parking brake releases and the keys are present. If a function is untested, say that plainly. There is no need to ask the keeper to perform a risky test just to give a more complete answer.

A stored car may have low tyres, seized components or parts removed during an earlier repair attempt. Report those changes rather than repeat how the car behaved before it was put away. For loose panels or dismantled components, explain what is secured to the vehicle and what is separate. The actual loading condition should guide the quotation.

List spare parts or other items intended to travel with the car, particularly heavy components. Confirm the recipient is ready to accept them. A quote for one vehicle should not become an undisclosed additional load or a second collection address on the day. Where something needs separate handling, raise that before the route and service are agreed.

Workshop collections and deliveries

Before sending a car to a repairer, agree when the business can receive it and where a non-runner should be unloaded. Get the vehicle-delivery entrance and a contact name. A repair appointment is not automatically permission to leave a car beforehand or after closing. Give AtWheel the arrangement confirmed by the workshop so collection and delivery can be coordinated.

If a workshop is releasing the car, ask for its current condition. Diagnosis may have changed the wheels, steering or components needed for loading. Our business collection information also explains why release references and the right department matter. The person who approved payment may not be the person physically handing over the vehicle.

Where a return move is expected after repairs, treat it as another proposed journey with its own confirmed date and condition. The first delivery does not automatically book a later collection. Obtain an updated description from the repairer and check the receiving address again. Even familiar locations need instructions that match the situation at the time of the later job.

Vans, low cars and restricted sites

AtWheel can handle vans up to 3,500kg. Include weight, load, dimensions and body type, and mention roof equipment or a conversion. If the vehicle is business-owned, identify who authorises the movement. A loaded work van is not adequately described by its model name alone, and cargo or tools should be included in the information supplied for assessment.

For a low or modified car, explain ground-clearance and bodywork concerns. Our classic car transport information can help start that discussion. Recent photographs support the enquiry, but the keeper should still describe controls and movement which cannot be judged from an image. We assess the actual vehicle rather than assume every example of the same model is identical.

Equipment capable of working with 2.1m clearance is within AtWheel’s service capability, subject to checking the full access. Lower clearance is not assumed suitable. Ramps, turns and the position of the parked vehicle remain important after the height is known. Tell us the restriction at the collection site and any other obstacle affecting a workable loading plan.

Where the vehicle will finish

Agree a suitable resting place with the recipient before delivery. If the vehicle will not drive afterwards, consider access for its next repair or movement and avoid blocking a shared entrance. Keep existing damage, keys and fault information together for the handover. If the receiving person changes, make sure the replacement has the same instructions and authority to accept the car.

Disclose a real deadline such as a property handover or the end of a storage agreement when first discussing dates. That is different from simply preferring a particular day. We need the actual release and receiving limits to consider availability properly, rather than discover late in the arrangement that one address will no longer be accessible.
