Vehicle transport in Bursledon

AtWheel can arrange planned vehicle transport in Bursledon, including purchases, workshop transfers and cars that cannot be driven to their destination. Give us the two addresses and the vehicle's condition. We will check the route, the space for loading and the handover arrangements before a collection is confirmed.

Get the collection address right first

Bursledon parish covers Bursledon, Lowford and most of Old Netley. A seller may use the broader area name in an advert even when the car stands at a particular house, yard or business elsewhere within it. Ask where the vehicle will physically be on the collection day. AtWheel needs that address for the route calculation and the access assessment, not simply the address associated with the person selling it.

When arranging vehicle transport, include the registration and model as well as the location. If a business has several similar cars, the registration is an important check. Explain who will release it and whether the keys are on site. A straightforward collection starts with the owner, seller and transporter working from the same description rather than different versions of an old advertisement.

Private sales with a clear release arrangement

Confirm the purchase and release arrangements directly with the seller before the vehicle is collected. Any inspection, payment or question about its advertised condition should be resolved as part of the sale. AtWheel's role is the agreed movement. A transport booking does not verify a car's mechanical condition or mean that the driver can settle an unresolved purchase on the buyer's behalf.

Ask who will be present, where the keys will be and whether anything needs moving to reach the car. If the owner has left a relative or colleague in charge, make sure that person knows the collection has been authorised. Provide a contact number for the handover with their agreement. A booking made with an absent owner still needs someone able to open a physical gate and release the right vehicle.

Agree what will travel with the car. Documents and keys are different from a collection of loose parts, tools or another vehicle's wheels. Mention additional items when you request the quotation so their weight and safe carriage can be considered. It is better to clarify the load now than discover at collection that the vehicle contains something which was not part of the agreed movement.

Lowford premises and village collection points

The Lowford Centre is a useful local reference, but a meeting point near it still needs an exact address and an appropriate loading position. The community centre directs parking matters to Eastleigh Borough Council; its staff should not be assumed to authorise use of the surrounding parking for transport work. If somebody proposes a public car park as a convenient handover, discuss that with us before treating it as agreed.

Bursledon station is on Station Road. A person travelling by train to hand over keys might name the station as their meeting point while the vehicle is parked somewhere else. Keep those two locations distinct. The driver needs the road access to the car, and a pedestrian shortcut or platform entrance cannot be used as a description of a loading route.

For a home collection, describe a shared drive, gate, slope or restricted turning area. Photographs can be helpful where safely taken, especially if the position is hard to explain. Tell us if the car is facing a wall or surrounded by other vehicles. We plan for the existing layout rather than assuming the seller will move a non-running car into the street before we arrive.

Transport mileage from the AtWheel base

The AtWheel transport rate is £3 per mile for the full route from PO13 8DG to collection, then on to delivery. The first leg is included in the charged mileage. A short journey from Bursledon to a nearby garage therefore should not be priced by looking only at the distance between those two addresses. Both the approach and onward journey need to be considered.

The stated calculation does not automatically add a return leg after delivery. Vehicle suitability, loading conditions and any job extras are checked for the movement being requested. The £100 standard recovery call-out belongs to recovery and should not be combined with transport pricing by assumption. A non-running car can still be a planned transport job when its collection and delivery are being organised in advance.

Use the transport quote form with the postcodes and vehicle details. If the collection point is uncertain or a required function has not been tested, say so. A calculation or enquiry is subject to the necessary checks before a time slot and booking are confirmed. If either address changes, ask for the route and price to be reviewed rather than relying on a figure for the previous arrangement.

Non-running cars need a useful description

“Non-runner” covers several different situations. Tell us whether the car starts, drives, rolls and steers, taking each question separately. A car with an engine fault may roll freely, whereas one with a functioning engine may have a transmission problem or seized brake. Our non-runner transport service uses those details to consider how it can be loaded and where it can be delivered.

Missing keys, an electronic parking brake or a locked steering system should be mentioned before booking. So should accident damage, loose bodywork, missing wheels or tyres that cannot hold air. You do not need to force a component or attempt a repair to provide a confident answer. Report what is known and leave an unknown as an unknown until it can be checked appropriately.

If the car has been stored, ask the person with access to confirm its current state. Old photographs may show a clear driveway and inflated tyres that no longer reflect the collection. Recent information is particularly useful when a buyer is arranging transport from another area. It prevents the loading plan from depending on how the car looked months before the sale.

Workshop deliveries that the garage can receive

A repair appointment is a good starting point, but ask the workshop how it receives transported vehicles. Confirm the unloading entrance and who will take the keys. Explain whether the car can be pushed or steered once unloaded. The garage needs to agree a workable place for it, especially if it will remain outside before repairs begin.

Where you are collecting a car after work, confirm that it is released and ready. If some repairs remain outstanding, tell us what that means for movement. A car described as a runner before entering the workshop may have different handling requirements when leaving it. For business sales and prepared vehicles, the dealer collection information helps identify the correct release contact and references.

For delivery to your home instead, think about the final parking position. A non-runner should not arrive to find the intended space occupied or inaccessible. Describe any slope, narrow gate or shared access in the quotation request. If the receiving person changes the plan, contact AtWheel before delivery so we can assess the alternative and agree any effect on the job.

Vans, low cars and restricted access

We can discuss vans up to 3,500kg, with their dimensions, weight and load checked. A high roof, conversion, rack or tail lift should be included in the description. For a vehicle carrying business equipment, say what remains inside during transport. The model badge alone does not tell us everything needed to assess a commercial vehicle movement.

For lowered or cherished cars, explain clearance concerns and modifications. The classic car transport page covers useful preparation details. Where a restricted entrance forms part of the job, AtWheel can work with 2.1m clearance, subject to assessing ramps, turning room and the loading position. Access below that figure should not be assumed suitable.

Keeping the people at both ends informed

Give the recipient the registration before delivery, particularly if a garage is expecting several cars. Agree which keys and documents will accompany it and who should receive them. If a temporary contact has been helping with the purchase, make sure the final booking details reach the person who will actually accept the vehicle. That avoids a handover depending on somebody who has finished their part of the arrangement.

Choose one booking contact who can approve changes, then provide the collection and delivery contacts as needed. Tell everyone the arrangements once agreed. A seller who expects morning collection and a buyer who has agreed a different day cannot both be accommodated by the same unclarified instruction. We check the proposed timing with the practical release and receiving conditions in mind.
